Newcomers! Here's how you can help!

Hello, Dex fans! My name is Cherry, and I'm a moderator for The National Dex Wiki! If you are visiting this lovely site in order to help get this wiki in tip-top shape, you've come to the right Discussion Thread! This thread is meant to provide an outline of what we're currently working on improving with the site and ways YOU can help!
 **-----MAIN FOCUS-----**

Our first order of business with this wiki is populating the The Dex! Trivia and Battle Strategy pages and The DexCast pages. Each episode of both The Dex! and The DexCast should have its own individual page explaining in detail what happens during that episode. Both types of pages have a specific structure they all follow (e.g., what content goes where, what types of headings that are used, how things are titled). If you are creating/editing an episode page, please follow the precedents set in already-constructed pages!
**If you are modifying a Trivia and Battle Strategy page, I recommend using the Kabutops Episode and Gengar Episode pages as guidelines for structure!
**If you are modifying a DexCast page, I recommend using the Episode 2 and Episode 5 pages as guidelines for structure!
The most important thing is making sure a page exists for each episode! Small nuances can be dealt with at a later date, although if you have any questions, feel free to ask! (The DexCast pages are kind of my pet project, so I know a lot more about how those pages are set up than The Dex pages, but I'll try my best to answer all questions!)
**-----OTHER SMALLER JOBS-----**
Refining the pages for Alex , Kellz , and Jimmy -- Out of the three, Kellz's page is the only one that's fleshed out to a nice degree. It would be great if all three profiles had a bit more "oomph" and possibly shared a more similar page structure/format.
Working on pages for Side Shows -- If my knowledge is correct, I don't think any of The Dex's side shows (e.g. The Mini Dex and ORAS Vlogs) currently have whole pages dedicated to them. If a structure could be established for these pages and individual episode pages started being populated, then that would be marvelous!
The Music Project!! -- We want to try and identify all background music used in segments of The Dex, specifically music used in Ridiculous Segments and DexCast Episodes. It can be tricky sometimes, but we should be able to figure it out with our collective Pokemon Music Knowledge! It helps to know that about 90% of the background music comes from official Pokemon OSTs.
HASHTAGS -- There is a Hashtag List set up on the wiki, but it's very sparse currently, and I have a cool idea of how we could make it better. My vision is to have the list of hashtags be listed in alphabetical order, and every hashtag links to the page of The DexCast episode it originated in. Then, on every DexCastepisode page, there's a section (possibly placed before the "Trivia" section?) that lists of all the hashtags used in that episode and a brief description of how they came about. Then we would have a whole catalog of how each crazy hashtag originated!
I'll keep adding stuff to this thread as more tasks pop up!

Thanks in advance for your efforts!! I really appreciate it!

Hey I'm new?

Hey! My name is Alan and I've been a long time fan of the dex! I've been wanting to do some sort of list or compilation of information from all the great content the dex has given us, and then I heard that a wiki was started! I would love to help fill out pages and make the wiki easy to use as a resource for the crew. I was wondering, isn't there a thing where patreon peeps can get scripts from the episodes? If so, couldnt we use that to copy/paste some info for pages like the dex episodes?

Science questions in Episode 35 - Crustle!

Hello all, Just a short questions to start the Q&A board, I'm watching episode 35 on Crustle for adding content to the episode 35 page when it is ready, and trying to find the two species of hermit crab PokeKellz references in the Animal Influences segment:
I'm hearing canomitive perlatis for the hermit crab with Dwebble-like eye shape, and Camabididae for the terrestrial species. I think my hearing is off since I'm not turning up any results searching for these names. If anyone has the correct names, please post :).

Theory: Mawile is secretly an evolution of Helioptile

So I just watched the newest dex episode on mawile, and I noticed that Alex and Kellz were stumped on why mawile's jaws were, in the pokédex, said to be mutated horns. So I thought I would share my personal theory. Note that this is copied from smashboards, where I originally posted this theory, so it will be starting from the very beginning.
So, I stumbled upon a piece of artwork titled "Mawile Evolution" on deviantart that showed mega mawile, mawile, and. . . helioptile? The helioptile really looked like it actually belonged in mawile's evolutionary chain. The artist said that he just added helioptile in there for the heck of it, and there are plenty of things online where people have said helioptile should evolve into mawile as well as heliolisk, but none of them offered an explanation, just some visual evidence. Well, I have done some research, and I can conclude that it is extremely possible that mawile is a long lost evolution/mutation of helioptile.
So there are some initial clues right off the bat: mawile and helioptile both end in -ile, signifying that they are both reptiles, and mawile is slightly taller and heavier than helioptile, which is normal for evolution. Also, their color schemes are strikingly similar, as many people have already pointed out. But the next part is my own theory, and I argue that it makes a surprising amount of sense.
Helioptile gets all the energy it needs from the sun, by absorbing solar energy through the flap-like things on its head, thereby giving it electric power. Well, what happens if a helioptile is stuck in a cave (which is mawile's natural habitat I might add) Where there is no sunlight? Well, I theorize that it and its sun-powered appendages on its head get desperate for energy, so in order to prevent starvation, it evolves, into mawile! Even on mawile's pokedex entry, it says that its maw is actually horns, that have been transformed! But from what? Mawile has no confirmed pre-evolution! Well, a starving helioptile's horns turn from solar-power to meat-power out of desperation to survive. In this way, it also loses its electric typing since it loses solar power, and grows steel teeth, making it a steel type. Well, one might wonder why mawile appears to have some fur, when helioptile doesn't. This is just another one of helioptile's adaptations during evolution, since before it got stuck in the cave, it was accustomed to the constant exposure of sunlight, so being stuck in a cold, damp cave is very uncomfortable for the lizard, and it grows fur to cope with the temperature. So after all this, one question remains: helioptile has a tail, so why doesn't mawile have one? Well, real lizards can shed their tails in desperate times, but they loose many of the nutrients stored in them. Well, what if helioptile used its tail to store extra electricity, and when evolving, it sheds its tail out of necessity, since it no longer serves helioptile any purpose other than being a liability since other creatures could grab it by its tail? Once helioptile has gone through these transformations and adjustments, it is now much better suited to survive in its habitat, and becomes a mawile.
As with any theory, this idea is malleable, and can be changed if a problem or contradiction is found, so if there is any contradictory evidence out there, please let me know so that I may adapt this theory to fit around it, and if you have any more evidence to support this theory, please let me know as well, so that I may add it into the theory. I would also be glad to answer any questions or confusions you may have.
